我踏上辽西大地时正值初秋，当我站在秋风乍起的牛河梁，眼望周围凝重的黑松林，发现的是大片挖掘后的废墟，废墟里满是蒿草。女神庙遗址毫无遮挡地暴露在秋日里，开掘过的积石冢空洞地望着苍天。因为缺少经费，所谓的保护只是在山脊上象征性拦了一根铁丝，根本挡不住人畜来往。我当时感慨颇多，原本应该光芒四射的“红山女神”太寂寞了，已经在山岗上沉寂了5000多年，没想到出土后仍然归于沉寂。我知道，考古界很多人认为“红山女神”与女娲传说相关联，而其本身的泥塑像，也令人联想到女娲抟土造人的传说，可惜的是这些关联没有人去丰富和彰显。
