As we try to refactor the code to work this way, one question comes up — what should we do when there's an error (such as an invalid number of sides)? A number of utilities that I use seem to have a common convention for reporting errors (i.e. printing the name of the program before printing the actual error message), but what actually is this convention? It turns out that this originally came from the GNU coding standards!
